Friends Forest Nursery in Shere achieves Ofsted Good rating
Friends Forest Nursery in Shere has been inspected by Ofsted and are proud to announce they have been awarded a Good Ofsted outcome.
Friends Forest Nursery Shere is a situated in the Surrey Hills; their Forest School Nursery inspires children with our hands-on approach to learning both indoors and out.
The Ofsted inspector, who rated the Nursery ‘Good’ in all areas, described the manager as “highly focused” and noted how she has a “plan in place to continually improve the quality of staff practice to the highest levels”.
The Inspector went on to talk about how “Staff are positive role models for children.” And how they “provide children with many opportunities to develop their physical good health.”, explaining how, “They lead lively ‘wake up and shake up’ sessions and play energetic games”.
The inspector also praised how the “Staff provided exciting and engaging activities that invite children to play and learn”.
The report commended the nurseries forest school opportunities “All children benefit from remarkable outdoor learning experiences. They visit the local woodlands to take part in engaging and empowering forest school sessions and go for walks in the local area.”
The Inspector also recognised the Nursery’s excellent partnership with parents, praising the way in which “Parents report that staff communicate with them effectively, and they know what their children are learning at nursery”. Along with how “Parents say they are very happy with the support and care their children receive from the staff.”
Nursery Manager, Laura Woods and her staff team are delighted with the result.
Laura said “ I am so proud of the staff team who worked extremely hard to achieve the Good result. The day was a capture of the fantastic childcare that is provided here at Friends Forest Shere. The team will continue to show off their wonderful selves through our unique forest school teaching approach.”
