ICP Nurseries honoured as finalists in two NMT Award Categories

ICP Nurseries have been shortlisted for two NMT award categories .

St Ives Nursery, in Cambridgeshire, has been selected as a finalist in the learning category for the best Nursery indoor learning environment Award in the 18th National NMT Nursery Awards 2020.

The National NMT Nursery Awards 2020 is an annual event organised by Nursery Management Today, the leading business publication in the nursery sector and sponsored by key companies providing services in the sector. The Awards are designed to reward excellence in childcare and celebrate the very best people in the Nursery Sector.

Emma, the Acting Nursery Manager said “We are thrilled to be a finalist in this award category. It is our nursery’s ethos to provide a home from home learning environment where children can express their curiosity and awe and wonder, and have ample opportunities to fulfil their full potential. It is wonderful to have been recognised for being all of this and more.“

In addition ,Sheena Wood, the Forest School Leader at Friends Forest Nursery in Shere has been selected as a finalist in the Forest School category for the Forest School Award in the 18th National NMT Nursery Awards 2020 for the 3rd year running.

Amanda , the Nursery Manager at Friends Forest Shere Nursery, is thrilled with the nomination and said “I am so proud that we are finalists in this fantastic category. This nomination reflects the brilliant staff we have here at Friends Forest Shere and, of course, Sheena, our incredible Forest school Leader. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we have made the most out of our woodlands and outdoor areas to give the children unique outdoor learning experiences.”

Friends Forest Nursery in Shere offers a unique and fantastic Forest School where children are encouraged to discover, explore, observe and question what they find in their outdoor environment by: making dens; exploring tracks; using simple hand tools to make wooden objects; cooking on fires; creating art; playing and climbing; finding and identifying wildlife; planting fruit, vegetables, flowers and plants; creating and following maps; enjoying stories and songs.
