Little Rascals Nursery achieves Ofsted Good rating
Little Rascals Nursery in Tunbridge Wells has been awarded a ‘Good’ rating by Ofsted, following its inspection in July 2021.
The Nursery was graded ‘Good’ in all areas – the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management.
The Ofsted inspector described children at the Nursery as “happy, settled and confident”, noting that they are “engaged and motivated to learn.”
The Inspector praised the way in which “staff build and maintain a secure and trusting relationship with all children” which “helps them settle quickly at the nursery.” The report also commends the way in which staff carefully plan “motivating and challenging activities”, and complimented the “positive levels” of “well-being and self-esteem” shown by the children.
The report recognised that “children build meaningful friendships and happily play together”. It was also noted that children are “polite and behave well”, and demonstrate independence.
The Manager was commended for the way in which she “closely monitors the good quality of care and learning opportunities staff provide.” The Inspector also commented that children “learn how to care for the environment”, for example, learning “how to recycle and grow their own food items.”
Training opportunities provided to staff were praised, including a recent course in nutrition and the importance of healthy eating”, which is reflected in the “varied and well-balanced food menu.”
The report complimented staff for their excellent partnership with parents highlighting that the “manager and staff establish positive partnerships”. The Inspector recognised that the “staff keep parents well involved and informed about their children’s learning and progress.”
